CHASE Re-Encounters - Summer Social

CHASE Re-Encounters
Summer Social

Date: Friday 1 July, all-day
Location: University of Sussex
Attendance: Optional but encouraged
Open to: All CHASE doctoral researchers in receipt of a studentship, all CHASE Alumni, arts and humanities doctoral researchers at CHASE institutions.

Given the lack of opportunities recently for you to meet in person, socialise, and network with your CHASE peers, we are organising a one day event that focuses on informal opportunities to meet other members of the CHASE cohort.

Call for contributions

Would you like to run an informal session during this event? Do you want to run a workshop or give a talk on a niche topic (not necessarily related to your PhD research)? Can you offer a crash course on a skill or technique you possess that might be of interest to other researchers? Would you like to deliver a performance? Do you have any other ideas for sessions that might fit the ethos of the day?

  • A three-minute thesis competition open to all – with prizes for the winner(s)!

  • A CHASE alumni panel, talking about their time with CHASE and what they are doing now.

  • Informal sessions run by various CHASE researcher networks.

  • Social activities taking advantage of the University of Sussex campus and surrounding South Downs.

  • Relaxed lunch and dinner with plenty of time and space for socialising.

  • Socially focused sessions proposed and run by you.

We can provide a range of indoor and outdoor (weather permitting of course) spaces and should be able to accommodate sessions up to 90 minutes in length. Get in touch with us training@chase.ac.uk (use ‘CHASE Summer Social’ in your email title) by 31 March 2022 with an outline of your proposed session.
