Media Skills

Thursday 8 & Friday 9 July | 09:15-13:30 both days | Attendees must attend both sessions.

Run by Media Players International, this one day workshop will help you understand what makes for good communication through the general media and through short podcasts, the two most useful vehicles for reaching the public. They also directly address the issues of impact and media strategy required by the Research Excellence Framework.

This interactive workshop leads from identifying the elements of a good media story in academic research, through the challenges of dealing with the media and the competing pressures of academic and journalistic methods to final on-camera interviews and playback analysis.

Terms and conditions

The following groups are eligible to attend the training

By registering you are requesting a place on this training programme or selected sessions that form part of the programme. A member of the CHASE team or the workshop leader will contact you in due course to confirm that a place has been allocated to you.

If you are allocated a place but can no longer attend, please email enquiries@chase.ac.uk so that your place can be reallocated. CHASE training is free to attend and events are often oversubscribed with a waiting list. Failure to notify us of non-attendance in good time (ideally 5 days prior to the workshop/programme) means your place cannot be reallocated and may result in your access to future CHASE training being restricted.
