Books may be chained or locked in cases but they are by their nature hypermobile. Both their contents and their histories bear witness to the interactions of cultures. This is the theme of the next Bookscapes event, to be held on 14th September 2024 (times TBC) at the University of Kent. The day will combined invited lectures by senior academics with showcases of graduate work so we invite you to submit a proposal for a 20-minute paper or a panel (of two to four papers). Be as inventive with the theme as you want. Do send your proposal (up to 300 words) and brief academic CV (up to 200 words) to bookscapes@kent.ac.uk by 2 August.
