CHASE Virtual Encounters - Registration now open!

CHASE Virtual Encounters 2020 is taking place online on 3 & 4 December 2020, hosted by Birkbeck, University of London. Virtual Encounters is the online reconfiguration of our bi-annual Encounters conferences; which are opportunities for doctoral researchers to share ideas and research, build contacts and form networks.

Virtual Encounters is also pleased to feature keynote lectures from Professor Martin Paul Eve and Professor Esther Leslie, both of Birkbeck’s School of Arts.

We welcome all CHASE-funded researchers from Birkbeck, the Courtauld Institute of Art, Goldsmiths, Open University, SOAS, and the Universities of Essex, Kent, Sussex, and East Anglia. In addition, all arts and humanities postgraduate researchers at Birkbeck are welcome. From this year the Encounters host institution will be able to invite non-CHASE funded postgraduate researchers at the host institution in addition to their CHASE funded students. We hope this will go some way to making Encounters even more welcoming and inclusive to postgraduate researchers across the consortium.
