Call for Expressions of Interest

Deadline: 30 June 2024

Is your research related to one of the themes below?

1.        Art and climate justice

2.        Culture and migration

3.        Museum and restitution

If so, we invite arts and humanities doctoral researchers from CHASE DTP institutions to express their interest to speak at CHASE Dialogues.

CHASE Dialogues is a discussion series foregrounding the significant roles the arts and humanities have played in big discussions today. By providing thought-provoking dialogues on current challenges faced by society, the series showcases the value of the arts and humanities working shoulder to shoulder with other disciplines, fosters collaboration and promotes multidisciplinary approaches to research. These discussions highlight the mutual benefits of conversations across conventional divides in arts and humanities research, broadening perspectives and considering innovative approaches to a better future. In doing so, the series will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the CHASE consortium – for the past decade, CHASE institutions have been making interventions informed by pressing questions and challenges through their ambitious doctoral training.

CHASE Dialogues will run in three subsequent events, each focusing on one of the above themes. The events will run in a roundtable format during the first half of the 2024/2025 academic year. You will be asked to prepare an opening statement and consider your response to two sub-thematic prompt questions, to be discussed with fellow roundtable panellists, before taking questions from the audience. This opportunity will allow CHASE doctoral researchers to create impact from their research, strengthen and expand their collaborations with disciplines beyond the arts and humanities, and to develop the range of formats through which they have presented their research.

Who can express interest:

·      CHASE studentship award-holders

·      Doctoral researchers in AHRC disciplines (arts and humanities disciplines) at CHASE member institutions

Please submit your expression of interest to keh@chase.ac.uk by 30 June 2024 and include a brief description of your research, how it relates to one of the themes, and in what ways it engages in or promotes inter- or multidisciplinary research. Selected candidates will be contacted by the second week of July 2024.

For an informal discussion, please contact Panggah Ardiyansyah, CHASE KEH Officer, at keh@chase.ac.uk.
