Programme Description:

Are you considering your career options after your doctoral training? Would you like to understand more about what will motivate and inspire you in your career? Are you feeling a bit lost about your next steps? If you answered yes to any of these questions then join us to boost your career plans. This programme is an opportunity to work with experienced career coaches and other doctoral researchers who want to focus on career planning in a safe and supportive environment. The boost programme will help you explore your options, identify your strengths and find clarity about the best career solutions for you, all with the support of your cohort and careers coaches.

The boost programme is split into 3 x 2 hour workshops:
1. Career Vision - What is truly important to you for your future career?
2. Career Planning - How can you make small steps now to make a big difference later?
3. Career Action - What does 'success' mean for you and what action will you take to make it a reality?

Learning Outcomes:

Following the Boost career planning programme you will have:

  • an understanding of your career strengths and values

  • explored what matters most to you for your next career steps

  • considered a range of different career options following your doctoral studies

  • developed a career action plan with short, medium and longer term goals

  • received dedicated support from specialist career coaches

  • explored your career options in a safe supportive environment with other doctoral researchers
